How do you remove wallpaper from behind a kitchen counter?

We are in the process of stripping wallpaper from our kitchen and dining room and painting. We have successfully removed all of the wallpaper, except for very hard to access areas, where the wallpaper goes down behind our kitchen counters. We have scraped, used wallpaper stripper, and everything else we can thing of to try to remove it, but there are still several small pieces of wallpaper sticking up from behind the counters that are almost impossible to pull out. We are not going to remove the counters, so is there any other method to try?
